Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has released a new commercial motor vehicle awareness course aimed at helping law enforcement to conduct traffic stops on CMV operators who drive unsafely. The course informs students how to pull CMV's over in a safe location, approach the vehicle, ask for CDL, registration, inform driver reason for stop, issue citation if appropriate and get the CMV back out into traffic safely. This course is self-guided and lasts approximately 30 minutes.
